What You Should Know

Beach Burner is a weight loss supplement distributed by Cetro Labs. What we found interesting was the fact that Certo Labs is the distributor listed on the Beach Burner label, but Certo Labs is a Toronto-based company and Cetro Labs is a supplement company. If the company makes a mistake when spelling its own name on a product label, how is the dieter supposed to trust the quality of the supplement?

List of Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • Cha de Bugre
  • Green Tea Leaf
  • Guarana

Product Features

Beach Burner is a simple, yet possible effective weight loss product. Like so many other weight loss ingredients, there was a time when Cha de Bugre was the most popular ingredient. With that popularity came a huge influx of supplement containing the ingredient, but the attention soon waned and use of Cha de Bugre fell off. Cha de Bugre was touted as a stimulant and appetite suppressant, but current and past research published in peer-reviewed journals does not pertain to weight loss, appetite suppression or stimulation.

Green tea leaf does have quite a bit of clinical research support in the past decade alone along with more than a thousand years of use in Chinese medicine. Green tea contains two main elements that support weight loss – EGCG and caffeine. There is 200 mg of green tea per capsule standardized to supply 14 mg of caffeine – not much at all.

Guarana is a source of caffeine as well, but in the case of Beach Burner only 17 mg of caffeine added. That brings the caffeine total to just more than 30 mg per capsule. Clearly caffeine is not the main ingredient the formula, but there is a little caffeine to boost metabolism.

Advantages

  • All ingredients are listed online.
  • Green tea and guarana (caffeine) are safe and effective weight loss ingredients.

Disadvantages

  • Cha de Bugre may act as a diuretic.
  • There is no clinical support for Cha de Bugre.

Conclusion

Beach Burner may be slightly effective, at best, but it may also be safer than alternative supplements with 200 mg of caffeine or more per serving. The addition of Cha de Bugre leaves us in a quandary. There are no clinical studies on the use of this ingredient for weight loss, but there is a ton of information on various websites claiming weight loss benefits. We were unable to find any negative side effects, aside from mild dieresis, but we are still skeptical about the ingredient.
