In my never-ending quest to discover the best diet product, this week I reviewed Optimen. We decided to take an in-depth look at ingredients, side effects, clinical research and quality of customer service. Additionally, we picked apart hundreds of consumer comments. Then, we condensed and summarized to give you the info you need.
What You Need to Know
First off, Optimen is a weight-loss supplement containing chromium, l-arginine, l-glutamine, l-valine, l-leucine, l-isoleucine, l-cysteine, l-lysine, l-threonine, green tea powder, saw palmetto, damiana, panax ginseng, ginkgo biloba, nettles, pumpkin, raw oyster, papain, bromelain, alpha amylase, lipase, alpha-lipoic acid, paba, choline, inositol, boron, lycopene, lutein, alpha carotene, vanadium, cryptoxanthin and zeaxanthin. After taking three capsules per day, the product supposedly helps with weight-loss and improving overall wellness. One of the benefits is the small size of the pills.
Optimum Nutrition is the company that sells the supplement. The business has been operating since 1996, impressive. Multiple online and bricks and mortar stores sell the product. We like that we found some positive customer comments and that it appears to be affordable, but read on…
Ineffective Ingredients – “No Changes?”
The first negative was the ineffectiveness of Optimen ingredients. “Unfortunately, not every supplement out there will work as the company promises,” said our Research Editor.
“I’ve been waiting to see results for month, feel no difference,” commented a dieter.
“I used it daily but do not see any difference…I stopped it,” stated a user.
If you are looking for people who actually found some benefit in Optimen, we have a few of those too. One user claims, “I feel a little more energized and a little less sleepy.”
Another has a similar experience, “I find that I have more ‘clean’ energy throughout the day.”
Side Effects – “Feeling Off?”
Several customers reported the intensity of Optimen side effects. “Every time I take the pills I get super queasy. They don’t work for me at all and I had to throw them out,” stated a customer.
“As a long time user of Optimum Nutrition I thought that I would try this. Big mistake! For some reason, it gave me headaches after about a month of continued use,” reported a consumer.
“Something in it causing me to get nausea, blurry vision, and dizziness every time I try it,” commented another.
There are times when the experience of one user is contradicted by another. We found a customer that suffered no negative reactions, “I have not had any side effects with these pills, but everyone will be different.”
Another said, “Proven to be effective in boosting energy levels without harmful side effects.”
Throughout our research, we’ve found that all it takes is something small, like negative side effects, to reduce the chances of long-term success. If customers report adverse reactions, is the supplement worth the investment?
“Any Solid Science?”
On the official website, the company offers information about quality and a few testimonials, but there’s no scientific research supporting the weight-loss claims. Although not linked to this product, we’ve found solid science backing ingredients like green tea and amino acids. At DietSpotlight, one of the most critical parts of the review process is locating science-based facts. If there are no scientific studies, we have concerns.
The Bottom Line – Does Optimen Work?
Is Optimen everything you were hoping for? Well, we like that the company has been in business for years and that we located some positive customer comments, but we have reservations about it because of no scientific research supporting the weight-loss claims. We’re also skeptical due to the ineffective ingredients and the reports of negative side effects.
Are you ready to drop more weight? If so, we suggest going with a supplement containing ingredients backed by clinical research and no reports of negative side effects.
Among the best products we’ve encountered in 2016 is one called Leptigen. The supplement contains a formula consisting of a four-ingredient proprietary blend, which has been shown in clinical studies to help accelerate metabolism and jump start fat loss. Customers aren’t talking about negative side effects and users are chattering about seeing great results.
Also, the makers of Leptigen are so confident you’ll fall in love with their supplement, they’re providing a Special Trial Offer, an excellent decision.
