What You Should Know
UltraLean is a product from SEI Pharmaceuticals. The official website lists the product for sale along with a brief description, but there is no ingredient list. It appears the ingredient list was uploaded as a picture and the picture is no longer available on the website. This leaves the dieter wondering exactly what is included in the formula and finding the information on an external website has proved difficult. We managed to find a snapshot of the website from 2011 that describes the formula. The snapshot also shows a huge banner claiming Dr. Oz once supported the supplement.
List of Ingredients
Ingredients:
- CLA
- Fish Oil
- Green Tea
- Caffeine
- Ginseng
Product Features
CLA is conjugated linoleic acid. CLA is not proven to boost weight loss, though some studies have shown a relationship between increased lean muscle mass and decreased body fat in athletes taking CLA. CLA may cause stomach discomfort, but most users claim the discomfort diminishes over time.
Fish oil is a source of omega 3 fatty acids. We are all deficient in omega 3s, especially when dieting. Omega 3s are commonly found in healthy oils, nuts and high-fat fish – all things dieters tend to avoid. Taking a daily fish oil supplement may support heart health.
Green tea is the king of all weight loss plants. Green tea contains caffeine and EGCG – both proven to improve metabolism – the heart of weight loss.
Caffeine is the most common supplement ingredient we come across. Caffeine in the right amount, typically less than 100 mg, can increase energy, spark metabolism, prevent water retention and more. The amount of caffeine in UltraLean is not mentioned in the product description.
Ginseng is listed in the new product description, but not in the old product description. There is a chance the company added ginseng to the formula. There are multiple species of ginseng; some may help fight fatigue and increase energy.
Advantages
- The ingredients are available online, though not on the official website.
- Caffeine and green tea make a good base for weight loss.
Disadvantages
- The dieter is not told how much caffeine or green tea is in each serving.
- There is no ingredient list on the official website.
- Dr. Oz once supported the supplement, but we found on mention of it on his website.
Conclusion
UltraLean has been around for a number of years, but the product description has changed very little during that time. The supplement supplies the basics in weight loss – caffeine and green tea, but we have no idea if a therapeutic amounts (or excessive amount in the case of caffeine) are supplied.
