What You Should Know
Le Patch is a weight loss patch that can be applied to any part of the body to boost metabolism and help the dieter shed those unwanted pounds, if you believe the small amount of information available online. The ingredient list shows four commonly used weight loss ingredients, but the efficacy of these ingredients when applied to the skin is not clinically proven. There is a good chance Le Patch and the ingredient in Le Patch have never been tested for topical absorption.
List of Ingredients
Ingredients:
- Bladderwrack
- Garcinia Cambogia
- Guarana
- Chromium Picolinate
Product Features
Bladderwrack, the first ingredient in Le Patch, is a natural diuretic. Though the full dose may not be absorbed through the skin at least some of the ingredient will be absorbed. Diuretics don’t cause permanent weight loss. The weight changes dieters notice after using a diuretic is associated with water weight. When the body sheds water, the sole function of an herbal diuretic, weight drops, but when the dieter stops using the diuretic or when the body gets used to the extract, weight returns.
Garcinia cambogia supplies hydroxycitric acid. There have been reports of side effects associated with this ingredient, but again we are unsure just how much is absorbed through the skin.
Guarana is a source of caffeine, which is absorbed through the skin. Caffeine causes diuretic effects and increases heart rate/metabolism. Just how much caffeine the dieter is getting with one Le Patch is a mystery. We don’t like mysteries when it comes to diet supplements.
The final ingredient is chromium. Chromium may help control blood glucose response to keep hunger at bay, but the supplement is best consumed in oral form. You can purchase a bottle of chromium for less than $10 at most grocery and vitamin stores. There is no need to take the chance that the chromium in Le Patch is not being properly absorbed.
Advantages
- Ingredients in each Le Patch are listed online.
- The dieter may notice increased energy and reduced water retention.
Disadvantages
- Most diets have a natural diuretic effect so diuretic supplements can be dangerous.
- There is no way to determine just how much of each ingredient is absorbed.
- No testimonials, before/after pictures or reviews are available on most sites selling Le Patch.
Conclusion
Le Patch is not a good choice for the dieter who wants to take a supplement to increase weight loss. Critical information about supplement ingredients, absorption rates and efficacy is missing from the product description.
