What You Should Know
Nutri-Thin is a weight loss supplement that claims to be backed by science. There are plenty of supplements that make that claim, but science doesn’t have anything to do with effectiveness. Water is backed by science as a means of feeling fuller, but that doesn’t mean you can smack a Backed by Science label on a bottle of water and claim it is a weight loss supplement. Nutri-Thin contains a bunch of B vitamins and one active ingredient – nothing spectacular.
List of Ingredients
Ingredients:
- Vitamin B3
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B5
- Vitamin B12
- Vitamin B9
- Caffeine
Product Features
In all honesty, the only thing Nutri-Thin has going for it in terms of weight loss is the fact that it contains caffeine. Otherwise this supplement could be marketed as a multivitamin, not a weight loss product at all. There is 100 mg of caffeine per serving and a long list of B vitamins. As far as B vitamin supplementation goes, there isn’t really that much of each vitamin in the Nutri-Thin formula, so your morning vitamin is likely more effective than Nutri-Thin.
B vitamins have a short half-life in the body. You will notice a change in urine color to a bright yellow color soon after taking B vitamins. This happens when the body is finished using up the extra supply. The body cannot store B vitamins so it sheds the extra in urine.
As for the caffeine content – there is a question about how much is in each serving. The label claims one to two capsules is a serving, but 100 mg is listed on the label. We are left wondering if one capsule contains 50 mg of caffeine or 100 mg of caffeine. If one capsule contains 100 mg of caffeine, two capsules would contain 200 mg of caffeine. The difference between 100 and 200 mg of caffeine is extraordinary in terms of effectiveness and side effects.
Advantages
- All of the ingredients and amounts are listed for Nutri-Thin.
Disadvantages
- There is a question about how much caffeine is supplied per serving.
- Nutri-Thin contains a bunch of B vitamins found in your average multivitamin.
Conclusion
Nutri-Thin is not a weight loss supplement in the true definition of the word. B vitamins are part of your daily multivitamin and 100 mg of caffeine can be consumed in your morning coffee. Nutri-Thin does not provide other proven ingredients like green tea or chromium to help boost metabolism and control hunger.
